Marjorie is a professional hairstylist based in Brighton, specialising in vintage glamour from eras past.

The woman behind the chair

A creative who has worked in the wedding and events industry for over a decade and exudes passion when creating her signature
retro updos and Hollywood waves.

Growing up in Melbourne, Australia the craft of hairstyling had always intrigued Marjorie. Whilst other little girls growing up in the 90’s got their fashion inspiration from the Spice Girls or Alanis Morissette, Marjorie grew up idolising the likes of Doris Day, Lucille Ball and Grace Kelly.
Through her teen years, she found herself adopting little fashion traits that these glamour beauties held, whether it be a flower in her hair, a vintage scarf around her neck or a pair of Mary Jane’s with a cute buckle.

With a growth mindset and a drive to be her own boss, Marjorie was determined to start her own business and spread her love of vintage glam. She has trained with some of the top leaders in the vintage hair world including Carl Brown (Liverpool), The Vintage Beauty Parlour (Manchester), Ms Rockabilly Ruby (L.A) and Michael Davidson (Melbourne.)

Her editorial credits include work in Runway Life International, Hello May, Polkadot Bride,
Marjorie Magazine, Easy Weddings and Vintage Bride Magazine.

Marjorie has styled various weddings, birthday parties and charity events across Australia and the UK. You’ll also find her styling at Rockabilly Festivals across the country (and when Marjorie is not styling, you’ll find her jiving the night away on the dance floor!)

A sentimental journey

I am all about making you feel at ease with yourself and in the eyes of an audience. I am dedicated to giving time and space for you to live out a childhood dream or encourage a vision that appeared overnight.

Creating hairstyles is more than a few curls and a mist of hairspray. Vintage styles can transform you into a version of yourself that has waited patiently to be unleashed. I am here to support that part of you that is dying to say ‘I just want to be brave enough to step into the spotlight, to be bold enough to be taken seriously, and to bring back that fearless magnetic charm I once held.’

Glamour like most concepts is subjective. What really counts is that I take you on a journey, like two ladies who entered their local salon in the 50s and three hours later would leave after having a giggle under a hooded hair dryer about what their husbands said at a dinner party.

I like to create intimate and bespoke experiences where you are free to relax, let out your inner retro goddess and ultimately leave with your head held a little higher. So whether you’re preparing for a girl’s night on the town, hitting the red carpet or walking down the aisle, I’ve got you covered and can’t wait to wave my magic wand.
